I am a 46-year-old man and I just purchased 6 “Baby Yoda” toys, a sentence I wasn’t expecting to type but one I won’t apologize for. The reason? They are super cute!
Ah. You are stuck on the headline. Some of you are already screaming, “NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE!” because that’s what you reflexively do. Others are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and saying, “Eh, whatever, let’s get weird.”
Maybe you are using cur$e words or maybe you are wildly positive, but there is no in between, no chance at us pulling together. This is the Internet and it’s a polarizing hellscape.
But wait: This is Baby Yoda The Child we’re talking about, the one thing that has seemed to bring anyone and everyone together, sprinkling joy and happiness around like ground up beskar fired out of a confetti cannon!
And when the toys are this cute, it only adds more joy. Let’s look at the pictures!
I can 110% confirm: They are indeed cute.
Even though each of them is pretty much a 2 inch blob of hard plastic, the sculpting, painting, and styling is designed to illicit maximum “ahhhhh”s and “oooooh”s. They are absolutely delightful.
So, get weird. Buy some Baby Yoda toys that look like they were made for toddlers. Have some joy in your life, for heaven’s sake. They are sold in 2 packs that run about $15 per pack. They are all so cute you’ll want all three packs in order to get each of the 6 figures.
I want to close this by talking about where I got these Baby Yoda action figures: Big Bad Toy Store (BBTS). BBTS specializes in stuff that might be a fairly deep cut. Although these Baby Yoda toys are made by Hasbro, I don’t know if you can grab them at Target or whatever. As with many things like this, they are made for enthusiasts and collectors. You know, nerds like us.
BBTS caters to enthusiasts and collectors. They stock the deep cuts. Masters of the Universe (MotU) ain’t a big deal in Target, but I loved it as a kid, so it’s a big deal to me. And BBTS has hundreds of MotU figures, from several different lines.
BBTS also has Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, Transformers, DC, Dragon Ball, Star Wars, oodles of Marvel, and a whole bunch of japanime, horror, and manga stuff that I don’t understand, but I’m happy it exists for folks who love it.
BBTS caters to collectors, so while they don’t have the insta-teleporting shipping of Amazon, they have a rock-solid inventory system. That means if you are looking to pre-order a deep cut collectible figure that has a limited run off 100 figures, you can guarantee you’ll get exactly what you ask for if you grab it from BBTS.
I’ve now ordered a dozen times from BBTS, so I’m confident in recommending them. My favorite feature is the “Pile of Loot,” which is essentially a way where you can preorder figures and they’ll place them on hold for you and ship them all at once when you choose.
So, two things:
- Get these Baby Yoda toys. You’ll be glad you did! Here are the 3 sets: Froggy Snack | Don’t Leave | Sipping Soup
- Consider giving Big Bad Toy Store a look. If you are a collector, you’ll be glad you did!
