Welcome to this week’s PUNCHLIST, where we round up the biggest news in nerd culture. It might be from the MCU, board gaming, D&D, and more. But whatever the news is this week, you can bet it will eventually separate you from your money.

7. More Marvel Movie Delays

“It’s official: there won’t be any new Marvel Studios movies in 2020” is not the first line you want to read in an article. Black Widow, Eternals, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have all been delayed further. Black Widow is now set to release on May 7, 2021.

5. CMON to Produce The Last of Us Board Game

While no details have been announced, CMON has secured a license to produce a board game version of the critically acclaimed video game series The Last of Us. The game is a post-apocalyptic survival horror experience that is heavy on narrative, so here’s hoping CMON can capture some of the magic of the franchise with their tabletop adaptation!

4. The Orange Years Documentary Chronicles the Rise of Nickelodeon in the 90s

Arriving on demand on November 17, The Orange Years surveys the tremendous success of Nickelodeon through the 1990s as it rose to define kids programming. The trailer teases familiar faces, behind the scenes footage, and critical analysis of the channel’s explosive popularity and slate of shows. It’ll hit 90s kids right in their nostalgia, for sure!

3. Twilight Imperium and Android Comics on the Way from CMON and Asmodee

Scheduled to hit Kickstarter next year, CMON and Asmodee are partnering to bring the Twilight Imperium and Android tabletop game universes to life in a new line of comics that will be paired with accompanying game components. Thus far, the slate of talent that will work on the comics has yet to be revealed, but the announcement that they’ll be paired with game components is intriguing and neat!

2. Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Second DLC Announced

The Crown Tundra is a new, snow-laden area offering new Pokémon, new Galarian forms of existing Pokémon, allows players to catch every Legendary Pokémon in the series, and introduces a brand new mythical Pokémon. In addition, Dynamax Adventures and The Galarian Star Tournament offer new ways to play. It releases on October 22nd.

1. Truth Seekers Trailer

Amazon original Truth Seekers reunites Simon Pegg and Nick Frost for what looks to be some paranormal hilarity in the newly released trailer. Truth Seekers releases on October 30th on Amazon Prime.
