Marvel Strike Force: Going Beast Mode on Daily Objectives

This week our focus is playing MSF on a time crunch. Last week we discussed how the Blitz game mode has turned into a bit of a time sink for most players, which then led to the question, “Is it OK to auto-run your game?”

And my answer to that question is, OF COURSE! Not only is it OK, but I highly recommend it, because who possibly has hours of free time to spend in game?

Below is a great video by MR F2P (free to play) and he says you can accomplish all your daily objectives in 15 minutes or less. His video was made before the recent update to Daily Objectives, but you will get the gist. Also, he is mistaken that Stark Tech helps in Arena, it only boosts in WAR. Otherwise, it is a great video!

I sat down this morning and ran through all the daily objectives and auto-ran as efficiently as possible so that I could get a minimum time in game. It took me 18 minutes 51 seconds to complete all and collect my rewards.

While I am huge proponent of auto-running your game to maximize your rewards and minimizing your in-game time, there is a lot of nuance to auto-running. Depending on the game mode you might not be able to completely auto-run the match, so let’s go through each mode one at a time.

Here is how I did it and when you absolutely should be running auto and when you have to be selective.

Marvel Strike Force: Auto-Run Daily Objectives

As soon as you enter the game open the 2 free orbs, you can only hold 2 so it doesn’t make sense to hoard these whatsoever, and you must open at least 2 orbs to get one of your daily objectives accomplished.

Arena

You must start in Arena because after a battle there is a 14-minute cool down. I start all matches actively and around 2 minutes in I typically know if it is won or lost so I auto. Did you know that while in auto mode you can still pick your target? You can and you should in important modes like Arena.

During the 14-minute cool down you should be able to crank out all the other objectives.

Campaigns

For the daily objectives you need to complete 3 Hero, 3 Villain, and 10 total campaigns and you can do all on auto. However, you will need to progress through the campaigns to unlock rewards such as premier character shards and gear. So at least weekly you should be advancing one more node.

You also need 3 auto battles anyway, so you get a bonus daily done by this time as well.

Raid

As you progress through the game you should have at least 2 solid teams for Raid. These will likely be the teams you are also focusing on for Arena because you want to have around 8-10 higher end characters that you use in these modes.

As your Alliance advances, you will start to tackle tougher Raids and so you won’t always be able to cruise through. I got to a spot where I could auto through U5, but when our Alliance set out on U6 I could barely get past 1 node using all my health refreshes and all my viable characters.

I can at least get my 2 autos daily in Raid but if you have to play them out they are timed at 5 minutes, which won’t put you way over and above 20 minutes.

Challenges

You need to get 2 challenge wins each day and these very much like other nodes are a progress to new levels as you go. I like to use these as benchmark assessments of how my characters are progressing and once I can accomplish a new level, I will auto for at least 2 weeks just to expedite game play.

Blitz

Yes, set yourself up to auto blitz constantly. I walked through this in last weeks “Blitz, Please” post. At minimum you need to do 2 blitz battles for your daily objectives, so do that daily with your 2 highest powered teams.

If you have time to spare you could and should blitz more!

Supply purchase

You will need to make 3 supply purchases as part of your dailies. Generally, I go into store, buy the ability mats (I still need plenty of blue, purple, and orange) and then I see if there is anything I need for gear.

Advanced phosphates and isomers are often what I am looking for, but you can always just go to the very bottom of the screen and buy the cheapest items so you won’t burn too much gold on gear.

WAR

You do not need to accomplish anything in WAR for your daily objectives but this morning I had 3 minutes to go on Arena cool down and since we have a WAR going on, I jumped into a battle.

I use the same idea in WAR as in Arena, so I start manually then about 2 minutes in I know if it is won or lost. If it is lost, auto and let it roll, if I can win it auto, I pick my targets.

This takes us back to Arena, where you crank through the second battle to gain all your active play rewards.

Well, I hope this helps you take your Squad from a D+ to a B-, Commander!

Be ready for what is coming down the pipe this week!

Blitzes: Monday blitz is Namor. Thursday blitz is Beast part 2.

Events: X Marks the Spot event. This is a chance to beef up or unlock Domino, X-23, and NSTW (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) by hitting unique milestones during this event. The scoring can be previewed in game or here is a video by Wolverthor:

There is some confusion on this Event, so hopefully we all get it figured out right away!

Emma Frost‘s confirmed release mode is Milestone objectives, just like Captain Marvel and Symbiote Spider-Man, so it might be a good idea to hold on to your gold and use it for the high roller during Emma’s release campaign. This begins August 19th.
